When it comes to Brick repair or replacement on old and historic property's, I tend to repair rather then replace.
It's only when a brick has stopped doing it's structural purpose I will then replace.
With a brick repair, I will face the brick back to its original shape and size with a breathable mortar (natural hydraulic lime).
I would then use a potassium silicate fixing agent (dye) to match its original colour and look.
The fixing agent is breathable and would last a life time. |
